The staff here was absolutely amazing! Every bartender, dancer and cocktail server was so sweet! They made our celebration a nigh to remember! Thankyou La Cage!

LaCage has been a true landmark for gays in and out of Milwaukee. LaCage offers several dance floors, a lovely updated upstairs and another bar downstairs which applications another feel to this large nightclub!

I've been here more than a handful of times, and I can say ever since they changed the name advocate to La Cage, this place has never been better! I'd like to give some praise to Sami and Donovan for being some of the absolute best bar tenders I've ever come across!

D.I.X. Milwaukee, known locally simply as 'DIX', was formally opened June 11, by Elizabeth Kujawa. It occupied the space on the corner of National Ave. and S. 1st Street which had long been known as a 'straight' bar, 'Timers'.

However, according to an article OnMilwaukee in , Kujawa originally opened the former 'Timers' bar in October , calling it "The General's" because friends gave her "The General" as a nickname. The article goes on:

"The first name, however, didn't work. It confused people and business started to slag. "Straights thought we were gay; gays thought we were straight," says Kujawa. "I knew I was going after the boys. Most of them are educated, have money, no kids and they like to drink," she says. "And after all, I'm in the heart of the gayborhood."

So expect a crowd during Packers games, and to see the Brewers, Bucks and area college teams on the screens. The Walker&#x;s Point joint also has dartboards, a pool table and other lock games.
