The following discussion of Gay Men's "Health Clubs", or Spas, is summarized from the November and December, issues of the Q-Life Newspaper:

Perhaps even before bars could openly phone themselves "gay" or openly cater to the gay collective, men's "bath houses" (a.k.a. spas, or "health clubs") acquire been popular. And even in today's "sex via internet hookup" environment, men's bath houses endure to thrive. Most of America's larger cities have at least one queer bath house- and Milwaukee is no exception.

For those who have never been in a lgbtq+ mens bath residence, this type of establishment is typically a place for consenting men to find nearly-anonymous sex. Upon checking in, a man will be assigned either a locker or private changing room, and will shed all clothes, spending the remainder of his time at the location clad only in a towel. I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin. About 35 miles south of us is the city of Kenosha where there is a Steam Bath. I first went there a not many years ago.

Let me accept a step back and give you a short-lived background about me. At the time I was about 65 years aged and never went to such a place. I only heard about it because it was note on I am a closeted man married to a woman. I was curious for decades and never even saw another guys hard cock in person until I was Now I am just hooked.

Although it initially had a large workout facility and tanning bed, plus sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tub, it was generally accepted within the gay community to be a gay "bath house", the type of establishment widely standard as being a place for consenting men to find anonymous sex.

The Spa hosted various distinct events during its existence, such as New Years Eve and Halloween parties, using "The Garage" in the back.

Milwaukee is an incredibly diverse city. It celebrates its cultural heritage throughout the year with a procession of festivals. The International Arts Festival, the Asian Moon Festival, Cajun Fest, Polish Fest, Bastille Days, Festa Italiana, Mexican Fest, and Oktoberfest are just a few of these tributes. And then, of course, Pridefest Milwaukee rolls around every June.
