- The arrival of the king of Carnival – held on the seafront, from pm.
- The Carnival king makes his way through the streets of Sitges towards the town hall, where he assumes control of the village for the duration of the event.

Departing from Casino Prado and endure through the town centre finishing at Paseo de la Ribera. - Francesc Gumà, Jesús, Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Sant Pau, Paseo de la Ribera, Sant Pere, Parellades, Bonaire, Paseo de la Ribera (ending at the playground).
Sunday 2nd March
- pm “Disbauxa” Parade Défilé de la Disbauxa (Rua de la Disbauxa)
- The first of two main parades through the town, featuring over 40 different floats and hundreds of bejewelled dancers and performers.

Armenius is an all male, gay krewe, and it celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. I met Barrett, this year’s krewe captain, at their den the day before their big ball. This year’s theme?

Carnival isn’t just a season—it’s an art develop, a tradition, and sometimes a battle for the last plate of frittelle at the bakery.
Growing up in Venice, I was immersed in one of the oldest and most theatrical carnivals in the world, dating assist to , when Venetians renowned their Republic’s victories. In Italy, almost every town—from the enormous names like Venice and Viareggio to the small villages—takes its turn with parades and celebrations that stretch the season into a weeks-long extravaganza. When I moved to Western Germany, I was delighted to find that carnival thrives there too, especially in Cologne. Trust me, the “fifth season” isn’t a miniature deal.
