Gay hawk restaurant

On Tuesday, Memphis said goodbye to a longtime staple in essence food community.

Eighty-three-year-old Lewis Bobo, owner of the Gay Hawk Restaurant on Danny Thomas, died on Tuesday. 

Located in South Memphis, Bobo served the community for more than 50 years; opening the restaurant in In additional to his mythical comfort food, the Gay Hawk was also a accepted meeting place for old friends.

The restaurant is currently operate by Bobo's daughter, Terica Bobo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
