DMV Gay Guy Oddball Meetup Group

Look, I'll be honest. I'm not sure what I'm looking for in a organization. I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Joey and I'm in desperate need of new friends. Okay, so maybe what I'm looking for is new friends

It's not like I don't have friends - I do! They're just all straight and dwell in Nebraska and shit. But I don't have a tribe. Not that I know what my tribe is. I feel love I don't fit in anywhere. Okay, maybe that's what I'm looking for, other gay guys that don't sense like they fit in anywhere.

More about me: sarcasm is my primary language, I'm blessed to have Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS is real, the *blessed* part was the sarcasm coming out) and I care beer and pro football (go Pats!) and reading and writing (young-adult fiction is my jam). I'm also a hardcore introvert and a general weirdo. I'm married and my husband and I have decided that we depend on our own friends - this is my attempt.

If any of this speaks to you, unite me for a beer or a glass of wine or whatever you drink.

I was hoping to get tips from people here. I've been in the area for about four years now and have made a not many good straight friends at labor, but as far as same-sex attracted friends & dates, none. This area has got to be the worse or at least I feel that way. It's definitely not for lack of trying. I've done everything from, joining meetup social groups, going on dating sites, and through other friends/acquaintances.

I seem to run into the same snooty guys, the ones who will look down at you if you happen to be from *gasp* Northern Virginia or concern about how much money you have or affiliated with. Then I run into the type that will talk to you for a while, hang out with you and meet a couple of times, and then for no apparent reason, just cease communications. It's the oddest thing. I did meet one guy whom I was in a serious relationship, but he was from Europe and left because he hated it here for the same reasons I mentioned. Are there any normal gu
