As June marks the beginning of many summer celebrations, it is also a month that honors the visibility, dignity and culture of the LGBTQIA+ community.
In honor of Movement Month, staff photographer Liam James Doyle has curated a special edition of “Humans of St. Thomas.” His photo series highlights the experiences of eight valued campus group members – a mix of students, staff and faculty. They all fetch unique journeys to the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and they all identify as being members or allies of the queer community.

When I began productive as staff photographer for St. Thomas, I was overwhelmed by the sturdy sense of familial community; but as a gay gentleman it wasn’t initially clear to me how or where my queerness fit in to the larger picture of this campus people, or if it fit in at all.

At the hour St. Thomas didn&#;t authorize legal same-sex weddings. Well, if you weren&#;t living under a bridge, you probably know that the US Supreme Court recently legalized same-sex marriage in the United States.
And since the United States Virgin Islands are a US Territory, we here in St. Thomas are now welcoming all same-sex couples to legally wed! Check out my St. Thomas wedding packages.
