Utopia gay travel
Utopia was founded in , by Singaporean, American, and Thai partners, with the goal of creating positive social alternatives for gays and lesbians in the Asian region.
Utopia opened Southeast Asia’s first gay and lesbian center, located in Bangkok, featuring a gay gift and book shop, café, mixed gay/lesbian pub, and guesthouse. The center went on to host author readings, women’s workshops, AIDS/HIV teaching and fundraising, and Bangkok’s first International Lesbian and Gay Film/Video Festival: Hearts of Light.
On December 13, we launched the website, the first portal providing up-to-date pan-Asian information in a non-pornographic format. An archive of the Utopia website is available from onwards. Our website went on to garner recognition from Period Magazine, Lonely Planet, Yahoo!, Gay Times, Advocate and BBC World Service.

I've become a fan of Utopia Tours. Though I've never taken an organized tour run by Utopia, I've used Utopia 3 times in the past year for same-sex attracted guides -- for Hong Kong, Beijing anjd Shanghai.
I wanted the guides to introduce me to the gay scenes in the cities as adv as to take me to typical tourist destinations. In all 3 cities, the guides were terrific; their English was great, they were personable; they were knowledgeable; they were flexible. Utopia added a very important dimension to my visits to those cities. For the male lover tour aspect, they told me about -- and took me to -- gay bars and saunas and discussed in amazing and informative detail the gay scene. And the price was very reasonable.
I should stress, though it's probably unnecessary, that these guides were guides; they were not escorts. There was no connection or sex or even much flirtation with the guides, but they did tell me where I could find all of that safely.
In sum, I've had great experiences with Utopia.
