Introduction: The Situation of LGBT Communities' Mental Health
Internationally, the mental health needs of the LGBT communities have been overlooked. Historically, non - heterosexual orientations were considered abnormal. Although progress has been made, LGBT communities still face challenges. They are vulnerable in terms of health outcomes and have higher rates of mental illness compared to the general population. However, they also have community resilience. Despite this, they are exposed to unique risk factors, and negative attitudes from healthcare professionals persist a barrier.

This course provides comprehensive, medically accurate, fact-based facts about the cognitive, feeling, physical, and social aspects of sexuality and reproduction. All lessonsand materials are culturally relevant and inclusive. We will address the health needs of all people, including those spotting as lesbian, gay, bisexual person, transgender, queer and
questioning (LGBTQ). The aim of this course is to equip students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes to victim key behavioral outcomes and promote healthy sexual development.
The course will focus on reproductive development, contraception to prevent unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STI), and factors associated with sexual
intercourse debut at diverse ages and developmental stages. Sexual and reproductive health and rights topics will be explored on a global and local level, using a life course perspective. SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – On World Blood Donation Day and in the wake of the Orlando mass shooting, a leading bioethicist Tuesday called for a change in the FDA's policy regulating blood donations from homosexual men.
Professor Glenn Cohen who studies bioethics and the law at Harvard told KCBS radio that the policy in place since December is based in fear and not facts.
The Food and Drug Administration lifted a three-decade-old forbid on blood donations from gay and bisexual men in December, but the lifetime ban was replaced with a new policy barring donations from men who have had sex with a man in the previous year.
"We are talking about a policy more based on horror than a policy based that makes sense based on the facts," he said.
Annually, the Harvard bioethicist said the policy is robbing blood banks around the country of more than , pints of much needed blood.
Cohen said the one-year restriction tells gay men "not to donate blood."
